More than 10,000 35mm slides, dating from the early 1980s (when slide nights were actually a thing - who doesn't remember Aunty Jenny coming home from Surfer's Paradise with a box full of slides?) to the 2000s, are up for grabs.
The slides represent a visual history of research conducted at the ANU across that period. The slides cover historical and modern art spanning Australia, Europe, North and South America, as well as architecture and design.
There are a few thousand slides that won't be given away because they have archival importance. These include the slides Professor John Clark accumulated as he pioneered research and teaching in modern Asian art during his years at ANU.
CAHAT lecturer Chaitanya Sambrani, who contributed to the collection as a PhD student at the university, will be on hand.
In the A.D. Hope Building, between 2-4pm.
