The film will be released in Australian cinemas on October 13.
It had its world premiere as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival at which its two sessions sold out in a matter of hours.

The ACT government invested in Joe Cinque's Consolation, which was filmed around the national capital.
" It is the first local feature film to be accepted into competition in one of the top tier international film festival. A great coup," ScreenACT director Monica Penders said.
