ACT Fire & Rescue crews were called to a home in Sternberg Crescent at 1:52am on Monday, with three fire trucks and a series of support crews dispatched to the area.
The fire did not extend to neighbouring properties, and residents in the street safely left their homes.
An Emergency Services Agency spokesman said one male resident of the house was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service intensive-care paramedics for minor burns he received while attempting to fight the fire.
He was later taken to the Canberra Hospital for treatment.
The fire was extinguished shortly after 3.30am.
Initial estimates put the damage bill at $300,000.
The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated. Crews remained on scene to check for hot spots and complete mopping up tasks.
