Earlier, they called on the public to help identify the man, who was found about 8.30am by a passer-by in Woolner Circuit in Hawker. Ambulance crews were called and took the man to hospital.
An ACT Policing spokesman said he had been carrying only a set of keys and had no identification.
"Police believe the man may live around the Hawker area, and may have been out for a walk this morning," they said in a statement.
