The student was walking to school on McBryde Crescent when she was approached by a man in a white 4WD.

He got out of his car and spoke to the girl but left when another car approached.

He is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall and slim.

The incident comes as police have released three face fit images of men believed to be involved in two separate child approaches last week.

One of the images is related to a child approach in Wright on Thursday, September 13.

A child was riding her bike on James McAuley Crescent at about 5.10pm when she was grabbed by a man and pushed to the ground before he fled without her in a white van.

The other two images, one of a hooded man with sunglasses and another with a beard and long hair, are related to an child approach in Banks the same day.

The two men are believed to have been following a girl home at about 4.15pm, with the man wearing the hooded jumper believed to be the driver.

Thursday morning's approach follows one outside the North Ainslie Primary School on Wednesday.

A former student was approached at a laneway outside the school, the school's principal said in an email to parents.

ACT Policing launched Taskforce Tydeus last week to investigate the spate of child approaches in Canberra this year.

Thursday morning's incident makes it the 16th child approach incident in Canberra since February this year.

Police asked anyone with information on any of these incidents to email Op-Tydeus@afp.gov.au.

They also asked any witnesses or people with dash-cam footage from the areas near the Wanniassa and Ainslie approach to contact police.
