Charity a big business

Having been involved in fundraising for non-profit and charity organisations for the past six years, I was interested to read the statistics that confirmed my belief this $107 billion-a-year industry requires rationalisation. To think that only 33cents in every dollar raised actually reaches the coal face is scandalous. Why is this? Simple: all these charities, which quite often have similar objectives, have overheads that eat away at the gross dollars raised.
