Gusty gale-force winds are predicted for Mother's Day in the capital due to a cold front moving across southeast NSW.

The Bureau of Meteorology's Chris Webb said the worst of the windy weather would hit Canberra on Sunday with possible isolated gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour predicted.
"It will be a strong and gusty west-to-north-westerly wind, with the possibility that winds could gust up to up to 90 kilometres per hour," he said.
With the wind will come wet weather too, however the forecast was for between one and four millimetres of rainfall.
On Sunday morning, the bureau was forecasting a 70 per cent chance of rain, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. Wind was expected to increase to 30-50km/h in the morning.
Emergency Services have advised people to move cars undercover and away from trees, secure loose objects in yards and on balconies and to keep clear of fallen power lines.
Canberrans might avoid the worst of it by staying indoors and having a cuppa with mum. However, the Snowy Mountains will be harder hit by the front, with gusts of up to 125 kilometres per hour and snowfalls of between 25-50 millimetres.
"About the alpine peaks on Sunday there will be blizzard conditions," he said.
"There are other places in the severe weather warning area, perhaps places such a Nowra and Goulburn and others more exposed about the ranges, where we think gusts will be stronger [at] about 100 kilometres per hour."
Mr Webb said the wild winds would ease on Monday, however a second cold front expected to hit Canberra on Tuesday night would mean temperatures would plummet to a low of two degrees on Wednesday.
