The ACT Legislative Assembly spent more than $53,000 on travel and membership fees for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association last financial year, new data shows.

Travel to Cameroon, Bangladesh and Cyprus for seminars and conferences is detailed in the Legislative Assembly's annual report, along with the visit of association chairman and British conservative MP Sir Alan Haselhurst to Canberra in August 2014.
The most expensive overseas travel recorded was a $14,970 trip by Labor newcomer Meegan Fitzharris to attend the 12th Canadian parliamentary seminar in Ottawa in May 2015.
Opposition treasury spokesman Brendan Symth went to the association's British Island and Mediterranean Region conference in Limassol, Cyprus in May 2015. The trip cost $10,140.
Labor backbencher Chris Bourke travelled to the association's 2014 annual conference in Cameroon in September 2014 at a cost of $4582, before visiting Dhaka, Bangladesh in May 2015 at a cost of $5380.
Assembly Speaker Vicki Dunne also went to the Cameroon conference at a cost of $2195 and the association's Australian regional managements meeting in Melbourne in April at a cost of $787.
Mrs Dunne's controversial trip to Sabah, Malaysia, for a meeting of the executive committee cost ACT taxpayers just $361, after the majority of her trip was paid for by the association's head office.
The trip sparked a review of third party-funded travel after it was revealed Mrs Dunne was accompanied by her husband, Lyle Dunne, more than a year after a ban on taxpayer-funded spousal travel for ACT Legislative Assembly members. The latest figures bring the total cost of the trip to about $2500.
Assembly ethics adviser Stephen Skehill is currently reviewing travel and gifts, after Mrs Dunne's trip to Malaysia followed contradictory advice from him and the Assembly Clerk, Tom Duncan.
The Legislative Assembly also paid association membership subscription fees of $14,928.57 in the 2014-15 financial year.
The ACT branch voted unanimously to remain in the body last year despite the federal Parliament withdrawing after more than 100 years as a member due to concerns about serious corruption inside the association and claims of maladministration overseas.
Separately, the latest six-monthly report on ACT government ministerial travel records more than $38,800 in travel by Chief Minister Andrew Barr and ministers Simon Corbell, Joy Burch and Shane Rattenbury.
Mr Barr visited New Zealand, China and Singapore, as well as making a series of domestic trips, costing $25,428. He used frequent flyer points for one trip to Sydney and held meetings on sport, international direct flights, investments and overseas student recruitment.
Mr Corbell's travel cost $7522 for visits to Hong Kong, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, including for a Nobel Laureates Symposium. Flights for the event were paid for by the Asia Society.
Ms Burch's travel cost $5582, including for visits to Brisbane and Melbourne for educations and disabilities meetings.
Mr Rattenbury's trip to Sydney for a meeting of transport and agricultural ministers in May cost $306.84.
