That dream, is now a reality people.
And Nellie's Cafe and Bar is also turning up at weddings, high teas, parties and corporate events around Canberra.
On Wednesday, the custom-made caravan was at Marist College where the school provided unlimited tea and coffee for the teachers as they made their way back to work after the long summer holidays.
The cafe and bar on wheels is the creation of young Tuggeranong couple Lisa Hudson and Michael Hammond. Nellie's has been making its debut over the last two weeks.
"It's been a dream of mine for the last five years," Lisa said.
"We're actually taking bookings for as far ahead as March next year. It's very exciting."
At only 22, Lisa is taking on her own business as well as studying nursing part-time at the University of Canberra. She also works for her parents Peter and Wendy, at their business, Swimart Erindale. Michael also works at Westfield.
"I'm entrepreneurial like my mum. I've had businesses since I was 12," Lisa said, with a laugh.
"Mum's friends would come over and I'd give them a massage for $2. I also started a candle business when I was 12 and I've still got that (Candles by Lisa.)
The caravan pops up at random locations to sell coffee and tea and some baked goods. But Lisa and Michael want to specialise in the events area.
So the caravan can serve up alcohol and lawn games at a wedding. High tea to a group of girlfriends. Coffee to parents at a children's birthday. .
"We want it to be a talking point," Lisa said.
