While Canberrans will get a slight reprieve from 30-degree-plus temperatures this weekend, the mercury is set to climb again early next week.

The city's youngsters flocked to Big Splash Waterpark Canberra on Thursday to cool off from 31-degree weather.
Friday is forecast to reach a warm 28 degrees, before a top of 25 degrees on Saturday and 27 degrees on Sunday.
Temperatures are then forecast to jump to a maximum 31 degrees on Monday, before a top of of 30 degrees and a chance of a shower on Tuesday.
