Monday's round of the ACT Mixed Winter Tournament was washed out and has been rescheduled to next month.
The round-four fixture will now be played on Monday, August 4.
The tournament semi-final will now be played on August 11, and the final on August 16.
Any match started on Monday before the washout will be continued with the scores as they were when the game was stopped.
ACT to host best
Tuggeranong and Weston Creek bowling clubs have been awarded hosting rights for the 2009 Australian Sides Championships.
The interstate tournament, to be held from March 23-26 next year, pits every one of the nation's eight states and territories against one another over four days.
The winning men's team will receive the revered Alley Shield, while the top women's team receives the coveted Marj Morris Trophy.
Following the success of this year's event, which incorporated the men's and women's competitions for the first time, Bowls ACT president Ken Dalgleish said he was delighted to be able to announce Tuggeranong and Weston Creek's joint bid had been ratified.
The Australian Sides Championship was first held in 1959 and the ACT is yet to claim the Alley Shield or Marj Morris Trophy, with a home win at the forefront of members' minds.
Tuggeranong Valley bowls manager Gary Willis said Bowls ACT and Bowls Australia would be vindicated by their decision.
''It's fantastic news for our club,'' Mr Willis said.
''We're only a relatively new club we've been around for just 11 years but we knew the Sides Championships were one of the big events on the Bowls Australia calendar and we've got a great working relationship with Weston Creek, who we know will do a great job [hosting the event] as well.
''And, who knows, it could be horses for courses, so hopefully the ACT [players] come down and get a feel for the greens [and produce a home-town win].''
Bowl up now, juniors
All junior bowlers (under-18) registered with Bowls ACT can attend the junior selection trials and bowls clinic at Queanbeyan on Sunday, July 20. The action will start at 9am. The trial, along with the players' performance during the junior titles, will be used to select players to represent the ACT at the national junior championships in Halekulani, on the Central Coast. Players for the Combined High Schools tournament at Port Macquarie in September next year will also be selected.
