Geelong's Max Rooke has been offered a one-match ban by the AFL match review panel for his heavy bump on Sam Power that left the North Melbourne midfielder dazed and confused.
Rooke's bump was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), high impact (three points) and body contact (one point). It drew a total of five activation points resulting in a classification of a level-three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction.
The penalty was increased by 10 per cent to 247.5 points due to Rooke's existing record of one-match suspended within the past three years.
But an early plea reduces the sanction to 185.63 points and a one-match ban.
Rooke will miss Geelong's round 22 clash against West Coast should he choose to accept the ban.
But if he contests the charge and loses, Rooke will miss week one of the finals.
North Melbourne's Michael Firrito was the only other player to feel the wrath of the match review panel.
Firrito was charged with making an obscene gesture during the fourth quarter of the tussle against Geelong when he raised his middle finger to the crowd. He was slapped with a $1200 sanction, but can reduce the fine to $900 with an early guilty plea.
The match-day report against Adelaide's Chris Knights for engaging in rough conduct resulted in no sanction. AAP
