She's enjoyed having a runner in the Melbourne Cup with Ain't Seen Nothin' in 2003, but Barbara Joseph hopes today will be even more memorable.
Joseph has two runners today Belong To Many at Flemington on Oaks day and Vintage Rock at Hawkesbury for the Hawkesbury Gold Cup.
A potential $168,000 could come her way if both win, but Joseph was thrilled just to have runners on Oaks day.
''I suppose when you run around at Group2 level at Hawkesbury, and also on Oaks day at Melbourne it's big,'' Joseph said.
''You probably don't realise how big it is until you sit back the next year and see just the grandeur of it, so to have a horse good enough to be there for these race days is a big buzz.''
Belong To Many is returning for her first run since winning the Le Tan Stakes at Caulfield on Caulfield Cup day.
Joseph had planned to run the mare at Moonee Valley in the Group2 Schweppes Stakes, but was forced to scratch her when the horse became ill.
With Belong To Many now back to full fitness, Joseph is confident of a strong performance down the Flemington straight in the $151,500 Service Stream Sprint (1100m).
She said jockey James Winks would decide what side of the track to go to from barrier eight, but Joseph was still unsure of how her star would handle running down the straight six.
''It's the first time at the straight six, and to be honest not running on a turn will be interesting.
''This mare wins a lot of races on the turn, she seems to kick away and get an extra length or two on the turns, so it will be interesting to see.''
Joseph labelled top-weight Lucky Secret as the horse to beat in a strong field.
Lucky Secret has won nine of his 12 career starts, including the Schweppes Stakes last start.
Joseph's other starter today, Vintage Rock, is also at the top of her game.
A last-start winner at Randwick, Vintage Rock will have her first start in Group company in the $130,000 Hawkesbury Cup (1600m).
Vintage Rock will start from the inside gate, and Joseph expected her to sit a couple of lengths off the leaders on the rail.
''This race works ideally for the Canberra Cup, which is still her main aim, and a win would be a bonus.''
Joseph won't have it all her way, with Goulburn's Danny Williams also set to start Canberra Cup hope Crosswise in the Hawkesbury Cup, and Hall trainer Bernie Howlett accepting with Belmonte.
