Body found in Brisbane River

9/07/2008 8:50:51 AM

Police have located the body of a man in the Brisbane River at Eagle Farm this morning.

Details were sketchy, but it is believed the body was spotted in the water sometime after 7am.

A police media spokesman said the man was not a construction worker.

It is believed initial investigations suggest the death is not suspicious, but police would not comment.

Construction work at the nearby Gateway Bridge duplication project was halted for a short time this morning.

More to come.
