Police were called to the scene near Pooleys Road in Mummel about 1.20pm following reports a man and paraglider fell to the ground.

A 39-year-old man died at the scene. NSW Police have not revealed whether the man was from the Goulburn region.

A crime scene has been established and police who are contacting those who watched the fatal incident unfold.

"We are speaking to numerous witnesses," a NSW Police spokesman said.
