Deep tissue massage therapists can expect a surge in calls after more than 7000 avid swimmers and runners jumped in the surf and pounded the pavement around the Northern Beaches for the annual two-day Sun Run Cole Classic at the weekend.

Sunday was all about Speedos and the sand with close to 3200 participants taking part in the swim legs of the 35th annual Cole Classic swim legs.
Youth was the order of the day, with 16-year-old North Turramurra student Logan Kaye finishing first in the 5-kilometre race with a time of 52 minutes.
Seventeen-year-old Brooke Morgan of North Epping took out the women's crown in the 5km race, making it back to shore in just 56 minutes.
First-time competitor Jed Boxall of Cronulla won the 1-kilometre dip but was more impressed with his fundraising efforts than his freestyle.
The 23-year-old, who is studying full-time as well as undertaking a cadetship with Fugen Constructing, helped the company raise about $22,000 to put towards Parkinson's research via the Shake It Up Foundation.
"The company has been taking part since 2009 and raised more than $200,000 for charity so far, so I was just happy to take part. I used to swim a bit and do triathlons when I was younger but I don't have a lot of time to train anymore," he said as he celebrated his 12-minute swim over a burger with his family and friends.
On Saturday, rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the 4000 runners who braved the cooler conditions and took part in the 7-kilometre and 10-kilometre fun runs from Dee Why to Manly.
Matthew Cox of Chester Hill was the first to cross the line, finishing the male 10km event in 31 minutes. The first female competitor was hot on his tail, with Lucy Starrat from Darlinghurst coming down the promenade just four minutes later, securing herself a 35 minute finishing time.
The 2018 Sun Run Cole Classic event raised more than $132,000 for an array of Australian charities.
