The Canberra Raiders might have to honour Joe Tapine's 200th NRL game without his front-row partner-in-crime.

And fellow Raiders middle Morgan Smithies says they're desperate to improve on their performances in recent milestone games.
The Raiders face taking on the Sydney Roosters forward pack without one of their key enforcers after star prop Josh Papali'i was one of three Canberra players cited by the match review committee.
Papali'i faces a two-week suspension for his hip-drop tackle on Bulldogs second-rower Viliame Kikau on Friday night.
He can reduce that to one game with an early guilty plea after the match review committee charged him with grade-two dangerous contact in the 40th minute of the Raiders' gutsy 24-20 victory over Canterbury at Lang Park.
But that would still mean he'd miss the Roosters clash at Canberra Stadium next Saturday.
It was better news for Tapine - he faces a $1500 fine for a grade-one careless high tackle on Kikau, reduced to $1000 with an early guilty plea.
That meant he's free to play his 200th NRL game - having played 20 games for Newcastle before joining the Green Machine in 2016.
Canberra fullback Jordan Rapana has also been charged - for a grade-one trip on Bulldogs hooker Reed Mahoney - and faces the same fine as Tapine.
Raiders hooker Danny Levi escaped any charge after he was put on report for a trip on Drew Hutchison.
Somehow Kikau avoided a charge for his hip-drop tackle on Raiders winger Nick Cotric.
Smithies has quickly established himself as the Raiders' starting lock since joining the club from the English Super League.
And he's quickly immersed himself in Canberra's history in his first season.
The Raiders have struggled in big milestone games recently, losing Ricky Stuart's 500th game as an NRL coach and also going down in Jarrod Croker's 300th game last year.
Smithies said they were determined to turn that around for Tapine.
"Too right. Taps is a massive part of this club. He's a fantastic leader," he said.
"He's someone who I've noticed when I've been watching Canberra or New Zealand over the years and I love playing with him.
"He's obviously got a great carry and brings that good leadership.
"To get a win next week for Taps would be absolutely massive and it's what we need."
As a fellow top-eight side, the Roosters shape as the perfect test of where the Green Machine's at this season - although the loss of Papali'i to suspension would be a big blow.
The Roosters boast big boppers Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Lindsay Collins and Spencer Leniu, making Papali'i a key cog in Canberra's hopes of making it three wins in a row.
But Smithies backed whoever came in to do the job.
It's unclear whether Pasami Saulo will be available, having spent the past few weeks on the sidelines due to a bulging disc.
He could be one option to come in for Papali'i or Corey Horsburgh might be back from his groin injury.
Peter Hola and Hohepa Puru would be other options for Stuart.
"Obviously we'll wait and see what happens with that," Smithies said.
"But if anyone gets a ban it's next-man-in mentality and we've got players who can step up and do the job.
"We'll wait and see, but we're pretty confident."
