A man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing another man in the chest with a machete in the front yard of the victim's home in central Queensland.

Police said officers were called about 6pm on Wednesday to a Thora Street residence in Gracemere, near Rockhampton, and found an injured 44-year-old male resident.
Paramedics treated him in his front yard.
A 47-year-old later arrived at Gracemere Ambulance Station where he asked for treatment of a deep cut on his arm.
It will be alleged he drove himself to the ambulance station from the crime scene, where he fought with the victim.
Both men were taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital and underwent surgery.
The 44-year-old was later transferred to a Brisbane hospital.
A machete and another knife were found at the scene.
Both men knew each other.
The 47-year-old local man, who suffered the wound on his arm, has been charged with attempted murder and was due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
