A window from the top floor of Phillip's Trilogy apartment tower was ripped from its frame during the height of Tuesday's storms, falling 12 storeys and smashing into the ground.

A resident said it was lucky nobody was killed in the incident, as engineers investigated the building amid concerns there might be more problems at the 323-unit block, which opened in 2017.
The companies behind the project, developer Amalgamated Property Group and Milin Builders, have been contacted for comment.
Trilogy resident Doug Stewart, who the complex's strata group employs as its building manager, said an awning window at the top floor apartment became dislodged from the frame about 5pm on Tuesday, as high winds and heavy rain lashed the capital.
"During the height of the storm, the window was open, but not very far," Mr Stewart said.
"The chain [which connects the window to the frame] snapped with the high winds. The window was then free to move and it subsequently broke from the frame."
Mr Stewart said it was lucky nobody was struck and killed by the fallen window.
"Residents often walk through that area to get to their apartments, but because the weather was blowing into that direction they would have gone the other way around."
"So it [the weather] might have caused the issue, but it also saved people too."
The occupants of the 12th floor apartment were not home when the window broke loose, and none of the building's apartments had to be evacuated.
A window of a fourth-floor apartment, which was open during the storm, was damaged after it was struck by the falling window.
On Friday, workers were at the Irving Street building to replace the window, as engineers continue to investigate the exact cause of the incident.
Mr Stewart said he was concerned that other windows in the apartment complex might be vulnerable to similar problems.
"Until the engineer's report comes back, we are concerned that it could be repeated," he said. "We need more information from the builder and the developer."
Amalgamated Property Group bought the site at 7 Irving Street following the collapse of the financial backers behind the proposed Aalto Apartments project.
A spokesman for the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union said it would ask the ACT government to investigate the incident.
A spokeswoman for Milin Builders said the company "responded immediately [when] we were informed of this freak incident, which occurred during the wild storms that lashed Woden earlier this week, including recalling staff from annual leave".
“We made the area safe and had the window manufacturer on site as soon as possible."
"Being on the 12th floor, we had to bring in special equipment for working at heights to enable a new window to be installed safely. The work was completed by lunchtime on Friday.
“We have been in touch with Access Canberra and kept them informed.
“We will be following up further with the manufacturer next week.”
