Are you sick of waking up, only to smell the roses? Well do it with a side of champers. Pop-up bar House of Bubbles is coming to the National Rose Garden, with champagne, Prosecco, beer, cider, soft drink and snacks on offer. SUITCASE RUMMAGE
While rifling through someone's luggage is typically frowned upon - unless you're sneaking in some surprise chocolates for their journey - this Saturday you can 100 per cent get away with it. The Canberra Suitcase Rummage is back. This mini-market will feature books to pore over, clothing to drape yourself in, records to boogie to and handmade paper for your DIY Christmas cards, all sold out of suitcases. RUSSIAN BAZAAR
If you know the delicious difference between a piroshki and a pelmeni, or would like to, check out the Russian Christmas Bazaar. There will be traditional Russian fare including cakes, kvass and the aforementioned dumplings and buns, plus a range of stalls where you can pick up early Christmas gifts. FAMILY POOL PARTY
As Canberra heats up, transforming into the devil's butt crack right before your sweat glands, you've got two options: head to the coast or jump in the pool. As you might be saving your trips to the bay for all that upcoming Christmas leave, Canberra Olympic Pool has the event for you. For Icon Water Safety Week, they'll be splashing about with an inflatable aqua run, a mega slip 'n' slide, a snag sizzle, aqua aerobics, mums and bubs swimming lessons, face painting and a DJ spinning live music.
