Skytower is a 274-metre-high tower at 222 Margaret Street that will house more than 1100 apartments.
On Monday, Brisbane City Council received a development application for a childcare centre to built on level five of the 90-storey building.
The proposed centre would have a total floor space of 1010 square metres and include outdoor areas.
Based on an area this size, the centre would be able to accommodate 99 children and about 18 staff members.
A 718 square metre terrace would be used as an outdoor play area, and the centre would be accessible by the main plaza of the development as well as through lifts from the basement car park.
A design plan submitted as part of the development application showed the floor broken into seven different group areas which had varying capacities of 10 to 22 children as well as pram parking, areas for cots and nappy-change areas.
It is unclear at this stage who the childcare provider would be.
The council would assess the application.
