A man has suffered "severe cuts" to his calves after being hit by a propeller at a north Brisbane boat ramp, according to police.

Emergency services were called to the boat ramp off Wyampa Road in Bald Hills about 12.30pm on Sunday.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man, believed to be about 30 years old, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.
The Department of Fisheries was on scene and the vessel also remained at the boat ramp.
