A Canberra man who murdered his 9-year-old boy admitted on Tuesday to a series of violent offences against a woman.

Documents tendered at his arraignment in the ACT Supreme Court say Graham Stuart Dillon, 39, attacked the woman with a hammer, knives and threatened to slit her throat.
The offences all pre-date the murder of Dillon's son Bradyn. Dillon has pleaded guilty to the murder and is expected to be sentenced next month.
On Tuesday, he also pleaded guilty to the seven crimes against the woman, including causing her grievous bodily harm, recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm, threats to kill, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and committing an indecent act.
The documents say Dillon threw a paring knife at the woman and it lodged in her knee, later leaving a scar. He hit the woman with an open hand.
He threw tongs at her and grabbed her by the neck and threatened to kill her.
On one occasion, Dillon threw a packet of Seroquel at the woman and told her to "Kill yourself."
On another occasion he had an argument with the woman and slapped her on the right side of her face which forced her head to hit the wall.
He punched her in the ribs and threatened to slit her throat with a knife.
On one occasion, they fought and Dillon swung a paring knife at the woman's face. The knife slashed her pinky finger when she held her hands up.
On another occasion, he attacked the woman with a hammer. He used the flat end to hit her on the back and shoulders and then turned the hammer around and threatened to put the claw part through her head, the documents say.
Dillon will return to court on March 9 for sentence in relation to these crimes and the murder of his son.
