Channel Nine personality and proud former Canberran, Erin Molan, has congratulated her dad, retired major-general Jim Molan, on his elevation to the Senate, and warned "he won't be bullied".

"He won't let Australia down," she told The Canberra Times.
Liberal Party candidate Jim Molan was declared by the High Court on Friday the replacement NSW senator for former Nationals senator Fiona Nash who was disqualified from holding the position because she was a dual citizen.
Jim Molan, who lives just over the ACT-NSW border in Royalla, is intimately involved in the Canberra scene and will be almost an ACT senator by proxy.
His daughter Erin, on holiday from Nine and expecting her first child, took to Instagram to express her pride in her dad.
"Thoroughly deserved," she wrote. "Your commitment, dedication and brave, exemplary service to this country over many decades is testament to the man you are and the politician you will become. Immensely proud!!!"
The former WIN journalist told The Canberra Times her dad would thrive in the position.
"His work ethic is second to none - as is his integrity. He will be a brilliant senator. He won't be bullied. He will always speak his mind and stand up for what he believes in. I have so much faith in him. He won't let Australia down," she said.
"Dad has called Royalla/Canberra home for many years now. He absolutely loves it and will serve all the people in the NSW/ACT region incredibly well I have no doubt. Pretty sure he is a Raiders fan too ha..."
And with her first child on the way, Erin said "I might just need to remind him that his PRIORITY JOB for next year is obviously Grandpa first - Senator second!".
"He is already a fantastic grandpa so we are very lucky. I saw a totally different side to Dad when my big sister had kids. It really softened him (at home at least haha!)," she said.
