A phone call in the middle of the night from Sixers coach Ben Sawyer delivered the South African pair to the Meteors and they've played a huge role in the ACT's unbeaten start to the WNCL season.
Now Sawyer hopes foundation player Kapp and Proteas captain van Niekirk continue their sparkling form in the Twenty20 arena.
"Marizanne continued to show why she is considered one of the best bowlers in the world today with her performances at the World Cup earlier in the year," Sawyer said.
"Her attacking style makes her such a difficult prospect for opposition batters. Couple this with her hard hitting in the middle order, and her outstanding arm in the field, and you have an extremely exciting cricketer that we are lucky to have in our line-up.
"Along with Marizanne, Dane also had an outstanding World Cup, ending the tournament as the leading wicket taker
"Dane's leg spin was one of our attacking weapons last season, and I see this year being no different.
"I am also looking forward to seeing Dane with bat in hand this year, because I truly believe that she can be one of the competitions real improvers this season."
