The 38-year-old woman was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics for smoke inhalation before being transported to Canberra Hospital.
Two children were at home but were not injured.
ACT Fire and Rescue were called to the scene before extinguishing the fire and then checking to ensure the fire had not spread to the roof.
The Hazardous Material unit was at the home conducting atmospheric monitoring due to significant smoke build up inside the home.
