A Wanniassa man allegedly found with a stash of drugs and weapons in his home has been denied bail.

Nathan Davidson, 32, was arrested after a police raid that allegedly uncovered cash, more than 75 grams of drugs, and guns about 9am on Thursday.
Documents tendered in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday morning said officers seized during the raid trafficable quantities of suspected methylamphetamine (9.035 grams), cocaine (39.72 grams), MDMA (33.75 grams in both powder and pill form), two .22 calibre rifles, including one with a shortened barrel and stock, ammunition, and $44,000 in Australian currency.
Most of the suspected drugs were found in a room at the rear of the Wanniassa property. A search of the roof cavity also allegedly located pills suspected to be MDMA, two guns, and ammunition, while the wardrobe of the master bedroom allegedly held the $44,000 in cash.
Paraphernalia to allegedly be used in the sale and supply of the drugs – including scales designed to weigh currency, rubber bands, and clip-seal bags – was located in the kitchen.
Davidson was present during the search warrant, and afterwards was arrested and taken to the city watch house where he was charged with drug trafficking, weapons and ammunition possession, and dealing in cash suspected to be the proceeds of crime.
He applied for bail before Magistrate Robert Cook in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday morning. Davidson did not enter pleas.
The prosecution opposed the bail application, arguing he posed a flight risk and could reoffend.
The court heard Davidson is currently subject to a suspended sentence for a conviction of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in 2013 and on bail for traffic matters.
The prosecution argued this showed he had a propensity to disregard court orders.
The prosecutor also said the amount of cash allegedly found at the property showed Davidson had the ability to flee the jurisdiction if necessary.
But defence lawyer Dean Ager, from Legal Aid ACT, said his client had an insignificant criminal history.
Mr Ager said Davidson had strong links to the territory, including a cement rendering business and family.
He offered to abide by strict bail conditions if released.
Mr Cook refused the application as the seriousness of the charges meant the accused did not have the presumption of bail.
The matter will next appear in court later this month.
