The bronze artwork has been slated for the precinct's eastern courtyard since April after years of attacks by vandals in the city.
The relocation of the statue was part of a $1 million upgrade of Gorman House over two years.
The centre and its sister organisation, the Ainslie Arts Centre up the road, have been reimagined as a thriving arts precinct in the heart of the city with their first major refurbishments in decades.
On the Staircase was removed from its existing home at Petrie Plaza at the beginning of the year after it was repeatedly vandalised.
The sculpture depicts a series of four small men climbing a staircase and had been a target for late night vandalism since first being installed in the area in 2009.
