My most harrowing experience doing stand-up was ... We're opening with this? OK. Probably the time when I started eating someone else's dinner onstage and it turned out it was Greg Fleet. It turned out all right though, cause I'm so bloody charming. Either that or the numerous times I've been called gay slurs when doing jokes about my sexuality. This is a bummer of a question to start with.

My happiest experience in comedy was when a woman told me that my material helped her identify more with her husband's mental illness. It's probably the best thing you can do as a performer to speak to someone on a deep, personal level. Even if you are just making silly faces and dumb noises while doing it.
My most embarrassing moment on stage was ... this is more embarrassing in retrospect. Once I got drunk and performed the "sound and fury" monologue from Macbeth out of a little face I drew on my belly button, Scottish accent and everything. I honestly thought it was a great idea at the time.
The best performance I've given was on a zeppelin to Danish aristocrats. They served 80-year-old wine and laughed until they bled. They just couldn't get enough Gina Rinehart jokes. But in all seriousness, my best gig to date has been at the Yass Golf Club to about 50 people. I hit on some 65-year-old woman for five minutes while onstage and everybody loved it.
When not performing, I like to play guitar for Kings of Leon, be the creative director of Nickelodeon Australia, and some other third lie. I also teach children to swim and enjoy watching foreign cinema.
Canberra is good for comedy because Canberra was built on a secret deposit of Hilaritanium, a soft metal that increases laughter by 1000 per cent. One day the Great Old One Yogg'Sothoth will rise from the murky depths of the deposit and with his ten thousand mouths and microphones he will do a routine that will stretch for eons, making the very earth crack open and bellow a deep, all-consuming laugh. A laugh that will shatter the stars. A laugh that will make the sky weep. A laugh that will end all time.
