As the colours of autumn descend on beautiful Batlow, so too will the town's annual Batlow CiderFest on the weekend of May 17-19.
Picture this: Chairs and tables in a street closed to traffic, two entertainment stages in operation all day, quality cuisine from Australia and around the globe, merchandise from a variety of stalls and (most importantly) a fabulous selection of Australian ciders to taste and take home.
In all about 80 stalls to tempt the pocket. A special release FestCider is sure to complement the Pork Apple Cider pie, which will be introduced into the food choices for the day alongside Batlow's own gourmet sausage - the Batwurst, which is modelled on the traditional German sausage.
Chairperson Ray Billing said Batlow CiderFest had grown from a crazy idea into an annual regional flagship event attracting thousands of patrons. Last year it attracted 4500 visitors.
"Now would be a good time to book some accommodation, or maybe you should think about inviting yourself to stay with friends who live in the Snowy Valleys," Mr Billing said.
"Either way there will be shuttle buses running between Batlow and nearby towns.
"They will run early and late and throughout the day, to ensure you have plenty of time to socialise and arrive back at your accommodation safe and sound."
If your accommodation travels with you, the Batlow showground will be at your disposal.

For a small fee you can lay claim to a powered or un-powered van site just a few minutes' walk from the centre of town. If you enjoy fresh air then book in with Tent Town.
Every year the Batlow CiderFest includes an educational component that supports the apple and cider industries; this year they are going beyond the apple and cider industry.
"The focus this year is 'back to nature' along with real cider made from 100 per cent Australian fruit," Mr Billing said.
"We are very excited to announce that this year will see the addition of a number of new events to complement the Saturday Street Festival," he said.
"The fun begins on Friday with two new events; the Back to Nature Conference or meet with real Aussie cider makers at the Craft Cider - Taste & Learn plus InCiders Session."
Participants can discover how to make their own fermented living foods and natural herbal remedies. It's simple, cheap, health and tasty.
Guest speakers will present in the morning followed by a yummy pro-biotic lunch, and a number of workshops will be held during the afternoon.
"The great new activities continue into Sunday with Orchard and Cidery Tours and a Dowsing workshop with Harald Tietze."
