Serial child sex offender and former Bega Cheese boss Maurice Van Ryn has had another year added to his jail time after being sentenced over the repeated sexual abuse of a teenage boy in 2011 and 2012.

The 64-year-old was charged in 2018 with four counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a person between 14 and 16 years old.
Van Ryn in the NSW District Court on Friday was convicted and sentenced to nine years in jail after pleading guilty to the offences.
He was already serving a minimum term of 13 years and four months in jail for other sexual offences against children.
He was due to be eligible for parole in April 2028 but he'll now remain behind bars until at least April 2029.
The fresh charges related to a male victim who was 14 and 15 when he was sexually assaulted by Van Ryn.
In one incident, the victim, who can't be named for legal reasons, was sexually abused by Van Ryn in an outdoor spa at his house.
During another incident when the victim was 15 years old, Van Ryn gave him alcohol and raped him.
Judge Sean Grant said the victim didn't disclose the abuse for several years because he felt embarrassed, felt responsible and thought people would think he was gay.
" he offender had a pedophilic-friendly environment that assisted in the abuse of this young person," the judge said when sentencing Van Ryn.
His house had a spa, pool and tennis court and had the "added attraction" of computer games and alcohol which "enticed" young people, court documents reveal.
Van Ryn, who was chief executive of Bega Cheese for 15 years, will start his sentence for the new charges in April 2020 and will now be eligible for parole in April 2029.
