Rapana has been ruled out until round 13 or 14 after scans confirmed he had damaged the posterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
It was a relief for the Raiders after initial concerns Rapana could have damaged his anterior cruciate ligament, which would have ended his season and required a knee reconstruction.
Rapana will miss games against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, North Queensland Cowboys, Canterbury Bulldogs, Wests Tigers and the Cronulla Sharks.
Although, his unusual healing powers could see him back on the field earlier than three to four-week time frame the Raiders have set for his return.

Rapana was expected to be unavailable for selection until round 10 after dislocating his shoulder twice and having surgery at the end of last year.
Rapana made a remarkable recovery and played in round two this year, surprising everyone with his quick return to the field.
He then damaged his rib cartilage against Manly and was ruled out for up to three weeks, but ended up missing just one game.
The Raiders will name their team on Tuesday afternoon, with Bailey Simonsson expected to get the job of filling Rapana's shoes on the wing.
