A 59-year-old learner motorcyclist was taken to Canberra Hospital this afternoon after an accident on the corner of Canberra Avenue and Empire circuit.

A hazmat van, police cars and an ambulance blocked one lane of Canberra Avenue going towards Manuka from Parliament House from about 5pm.
Onlookers said the man lay without moving for about 10 minutes. He was later taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition with a compound fracture to his leg.
The incident was one of several motor vehicle accidents during today's wet weather.
There was also a collision near the intersection of Donaldson and Doonkuna Streets this afternoon, another near the Hyatt on Commonwealth Avenue around lunchtime among others.
The Bureau of Meteorology reports there has been 4mm of rain since 9am, on top of the 4.4mm during the previous 24 hours.
The rain is expected to ease. The bureau said there was a 25 per cent chance of more showers tonight, and a 20 per cent chance of rain tomorrow.
Tomorrow was forecast to be partly cloudy, with a minimum of 6 degrees and a maximum of 15 degrees.
