A 19-year-old Palmerston man was arrested after running from police in Fyshwick early this morning, dropping a gun and a bag of suspected drugs along the way.

Officers from the Woden Patrol found an unlocked car with keys still in the ignition parked in Ipswich Street around 3.30am, and discovered that the registered owner may have been in breach of his bail conditions.
About an hour later, the man was spotted walking along Wiluna Street when a foot pursuit began.
Police have said that as they were chasing the man he dropped a 9mm handgun and a bag containing a substance they suspected to be methylamphetamine (ice).
The man was eventually caught and arrested. He is due to face ACT Magistrates Court this morning to answer drug-related charges and a weapons charge.
Banks fire subject of police investigation
ACT Policing have confirmed they will investigate a fire that occurred in an apartment in Banks yesterday afternoon.
The ACT Fire Brigade were called to the apartment building in Thomas Hart Street after receiving multiple calls about a blaze from 3.42pm.
Three fire pumpers, the Breathing Apparatus Support vehicle and a command vehicle attended the fire in the top level of a two-storey apartment.
The fire completely destroyed the top floor of the apartment building, however no one was injured in the blaze.
AFP Forensics attended the scene and is conducting an examination.
