Police were conducting a mobile patrol around 10.15pm last night along Hardwick Crescent, when they noticed a grey Ford Laser quickly entering the car park of West Belconnen Leagues Club.
With suspicions raised, the officers approached the vehicle, spoke to the driver, and asked him to undertake a roadside breath analysis, which resulted in a positive alcohol reading.
The 49-year-old from Latham was taken to Belconnen Police Station where he returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.132.
The man was also found to have eight previous drink driving convictions, and was disqualified by the ACT Magistrates Court from driving.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
