Magistrate Beth Campbell gave the stern caution before granting Dennis James Bowerman bail at the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday.
Bowerman was arrested twice within 12 hours on Friday after allegedly committing a number of traffic offences.
Police said a Gungahlin Patrol stopped a white Holden Acclaim on the Federal Highway in Lyneham around 8.10am after noticing the vehicle didn't have a current registration label.
Officers spoke with the male driver, who provided a bankcard as the only form of identification.
But police allege the identification was false and discovered Bowerman's licence had been cancelled in 2007.
The 59-year-old was arrested and charged with unlicensed driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and providing a false name to police.
He was bailed from the ACT Watch House on the condition he didn't drive a vehicle.
About 7.50pm, police allegedly stopped Bowerman driving a maroon Subaru Liberty sedan on Gungahlin Drive.
According to police he was subjected to a roadside screening test which returned a positive result.
Bowerman was taken back to Gungahlin Police Station, where he underwent a breath analysis which police said returned a result of 0.016.
Bowerman was again arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House, where he was charged with unlicensed driving and drink driving.
He was bailed at the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday morning to reappear on January 19. MICHAEL INMAN
