Australian legend Allan Border has urged David Warner and Steve Smith to embrace the English hate, even playfully suggesting Warner should stand on a team balcony sandpapering his bat.

The pair are set for a long summer in front of English crowds after being constantly booed on their international returns against Afghanistan.
Spectators in Bristol dressed as sandpaper, chanted cheating sledges and jeered, with the ire likely to increase as the tournament continues.
Australia next face West Indies at Trent Bridge on Thursday, while matches against England at Lord's on June 25 and South Africa at Old Trafford on July 6 are sure to spark strong emotions.
Coach Justin Langer pleaded with fans before Saturday's opener not to boo, reminding them the duo should be treated as humans.
But Border says the best way for Warner and Smith to deal with the situation is just to cop it.
"I think my advice to them would be just to run with it," Border told AAP.
"Not so much make light of it because it is serious being banned for 12 months.
"But you know you're going to cop it so just run with it and hopefully that is the better way, rather than being antagonistic."
And as for how?
"If you find yourself fielding down on the fence like David Warner invariably does, play up to it a bit," Border said.
"Even be seen on the balcony at Lord's sandpapering his bat or something. I don't know but just run with it."
Australia's players have largely avoided discussing the issue, questioning if it is part of the game or completely disrespectful.
Meanwhile, Warner and Smith both headed to Nottingham on Sunday before the team's first training session at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.
Warner looked in nice touch in Bristol and while his unbeaten 89 was important, the two hours he spent in the middle were equally vital in Australia's seven- wicket win.
He at one stage played out just the 15th and 16th maidens of his one-day international career after limited time at the crease in Australia's warm-up games.
West Indies' bowlers will however present a different challenge, having found plenty of pace and bounce in their opening win over Pakistan.
