A Canberra man has pleaded guilty to stalking and assaulting a woman he previously had threatened to distribute intimate images of after a relationship soured.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the victim's identity, allegedly threatened the woman with distributing highly intimate photographs of her in February last year.
He was previously found guilty of threatening to distribute the material and using a carriage service to humiliate the women.
In a separate trial the man was also found guilty of committing sexual offences against the woman and two separate counts of acts of indecency against the victim.
The man and the female victim had recently broken up before the string of offences in February 2018, and they had a three year old girl together.
ACT Supreme Court Justice Chrissa Loukas-Karlsson, who also presided over the earlier trial of the man, told the court that it was clear the community abhorred the sort of behaviour the man exhibited.
"There's no question that women and previous partners should be protected from this sort of behaviour," she said.
On Wednesday the victim was also able to tell the court her feelings about the offender, saying the offences had forced her to seek psychological treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety.
She said the man had made her feel ashamed and worthless to the point she questioned her own ability to be a good mother.
The victim said the ordeal had left spending countless nights awake, terrified the man may show up seeking revenge against her for raising the abuse.
A decision is expected in late August.
