The find came after Serious Crime Task Force detectives searched a property at Hackham West and located the chemicals in a shed at the rear of the home.
One was believed to be volatile and unstable so bomb response technicians were called in to safely remove it from the scene.
The man was charged with manufacturing a controlled drug, manufacturing explosives and possessing explosive chemicals and equipment and will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on November 7.
