It is fitting, given the Canberra Raiders have worked tirelessly to reconnect with its storied past in the 30th anniversary of the club's maiden premiership.
He charges onto the training track with tape around his head and throws himself into opposing forwards with all the passion and fury he can muster.
Raiders fans can't help but love the fiery red-head who has emerged as a cult hero in his rookie NRL season.
His mates back home in Caboolture and Redcliffe call it "the Corey effect".
That's why there is plenty of lime green getting around in Queensland ahead of Horsburgh's first grand final appearance against the Sydney Roosters at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday.
"I don't think it has really sunk in yet, it just feels like another game at the moment," Horsburgh said.
"I'm sure running out to 80,000 will really change that. I'll just really soak it up and enjoy the moment.
"I will probably get a bit emotional, I don't know why. I get it off my dad, my dad is an emotional and angry fella too.
"I will get out there and take a minute to soak it all up, and then I will just get my mind on the job and I'll be sweet.
"Just knowing how hard we have worked from November 1st, from that day we said 'this is what we have go to do to make a grand final'.
"We have all done that and hopefully what we've done all year, we'll do on Sunday and get the job done."
