The work remains the property of the artist. A $200 prize is awarded to the successful artist and in return the artist grants the MJF licence to use images of the work on the MJF website, Facebook page and any other promotional materials such as posters, flyers and pamphlets to promote the festival.
The artist is also recognised for the work.
All entered paintings must feature a jazz theme and may be in oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastel or mixed media and will be displayed in Club Sapphire from June 4 until July 2, adding a jazzy atmosphere to the festival.
The MJF Committee doesn't judge the quality of the works as such but rather selects what they believe to be a suitable work for a poster for the following year.
All entrants must be residents of the Bega Valley Shire.
Artists from aged 16 upwards are invited to enter.
There is a limit of three works per artist.
How to enter:
Contact Joyce McGill on 0428 953 556 for an entry form, delivery and hanging details.
Any other queries regarding the festival, please contact Paul Dion on 0408 545 859.
Preparations for the festival are well underway so it would be a good idea to start painting now.
