As two new cases were announced in Canberra, acting Chief Health Officer, Vanessa Johnston, said that the course of the crisis was still uncertain even though the rate of increase of new cases each day had eased.
As at 3pm on 8 April 2020, a total of 6,013 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Australia, including 50 deaths.
