ACT records zero new coronavirus cases - but residents warned against complacency

The ACT's total cases of COVID-19 remained at 103 as of midday on Saturday.

There were four coronavirus patients in Canberra hospitals at the time of the announcement on the Easter weekend, with the remainder self-isolating at home with ACT Health support.

Acting ACT chief health officer Dr Vanessa Johnston thanked Canberrans for their efforts in helping to flatten the curve.

She reminded the community to continue the good work over Easter in order to protect vulnerable people.

"As I have said all this week, please stay home this Easter long weekend. Do not travel to the coast or interstate or gather in large groups with family and friends," Dr Johnston said.

"If you do need to go out for essential reasons, then complying with the rules on physical distancing and practising good hand and respiratory hygiene are the most important tools in slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Dr Johnston encouraged Canberrans to find new ways to connect with their loved ones over this Easter period.

"People all around the world are using technology to stay socially connected during this pandemic and this can be a great way to keep in touch with your family and friends when you can't physically visit," she said.

As of Saturday, a total of 62 people had recovered from COVID-19 and been released from self-isolation - more than half of all confirmed cases in the ACT.

Two people have died from coronavirus in the ACT.

The number of negative tests in the ACT is now more than 6100.
