Nine more COVID-19 cases in NSW: 'Go forth and get tested'

"Please know as we lift restrictions during the month of May, as there's more activity - whether it's at school, whether it's dropping children off, whether it's more retail, people visiting each other in their homes - we know that level of activity means there is likely to be more cases," NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

"That's why we really, really need everyone who has even the mildest symptoms, even the mildest symptoms, to come forward [and be tested]."

There have been 3042 cases recorded in the state since the start of the outbreak.

Two of those cases involved overseas travellers staying in hotels, and another was a contact of a known case.

The state's chief medical officer Dr Kerry Chant said five infections are still under investigation.

Dr Chant reiterated the need for unwell people to be tested for COVID-19.

"Runny nose, [a] bit of fatigue, chills, fever, cough - the minimal list of symptoms. Please come forward and get tested; this will give us assurance that we can jump quickly on any cases identified."
