The recruitment process and plans for the 2020-21 W-League season had been shelved amid the coronavirus crisis, with Capital Football officials prioritising the return of grassroots football.
Capital Football boss Phil Brown has a short-list of candidates in mind for the W-League coaching job left vacant by Heather Garriock.
The W-League club has been seeking clarification about the season's format before choosing the right successor, but Brown says they'll now push forward regardless so they start looking at players.
"We're going to restart that recruitment process now, [we've got] a shortlist of candidates and so we'll get a new coach in as soon as we can," Brown said.
"We'll wait for the new coach to come in [before looking at player recruitment]. We'll stay in contact with players from last season but it's important the new coach has the opportunity to identify and build their own squad."

Capital Football has outlined its plan for a return to action next month, with local clubs preparing for an 11-week season to start on July 18.
The Capital Football board reduced the federation's component of registrations fees by 50 per cent to account for the shortened season.
Players and referees who registered and paid their fees before the season's temporary suspension will be refunded that component. Capital Football will release documentation on how to access those refunds next week.
Capital Football is waiting for the ACT government's approval on the proposed season's length before releasing the draw.
The Premier League season is scheduled to finish with grand finals on the weekend of September 26-27, while the final round of junior and senior competitions is pencilled in two-weeks prior.
"We've got our season period with a couple of weeks at the end that are optional, if we get a decision around that then we'll be able to confirm the draw," Brown said.
