Now, for about the first time in 10 years, The Boathouse is opening to the public for lunch; from July 31, Fridays through Sundays.
Owner James Souter says the restaurant has taken a hit during COVID. They've lost all their corporate clients, weddings, birthdays, functions have all been cancelled. They've had to think outside the box.
"We've got this great restaurant product which has always been used in the evening but due to the fact the business has changed, we had the opportunity to start thinking about lunch," he says.
"Guests have been consistently asking us when we'll extend our offering so that they can come and have lunch with us. We're really excited to be offering this new service."

A lot of thought has gone into getting the menu right and executive chef John Leverink has come out with sumptuous options including South Coast snapper, Cowra lamb rump, Pialligo honey mousse, and a hint of Canberra's seasonal favourite, truffle. Guests can select from a two or a three-course lunch, alongside a COVID-safe digital version of the restaurant's award-winning wine list.
There is even a children's lunch menu available.
