After the Rotary Club of Merimbula approached Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC) to assist in the pavilion's development, the location decision was made at a meeting between Council, Rotary, the Kiah Hall Committee and some Kiah community members in March.
Andy Thorp of the Rotary Club of Merimbula, said the pavilion, electric barbecue, sink, table and chairs were being constructed by the club with financial assistance from The Rotary Club of Northbridge (Sydney) and were being made available as a community facility.
"Community halls are much loved and used centres for people living in the rural areas of Bega Valley," manager of property and project services at BVSC Daniel Djikic said.
"As the central point in any community, these halls enjoy a rich cultural life that takes in a range of artistic, social, sporting and educational interests."
Rotary also helped the Wandella community repair their undercover barbecue area and external toilet facilities.
The formal opening of the pavilion is scheduled for Saturday, August 8.
