A five-game winning run against the NSW Waratahs will count for nothing ahead of Saturday's mouth-watering clash in Canberra, says Brumbies assistant Peter Hewat.

The Brumbies have already notched two wins over the Tahs in 2020, either side of the COVID shutdown, but that recent dominance isn't being spoken about at training following a disappointing pre-bye loss to the Melbourne Rebels.
"It definitely hasn't been mentioned this week, we're busy just trying to get our game in tact, we've got a fair bit of improvement in us yet," Hewat said.
"We're expecting a confident team, they've had a couple of victories over the last few weeks. We're expecting a very tough battle and one that we're really looking forward to.
"We really haven't hit our straps in terms of coming back after COVID. We've been working hard on our game over the break and this week and we're looking forward to what we can produce Saturday night."
The Brumbies' commanding lead atop the Super Rugby AU standings has been whittled down to just two points over the past fortnight, and NSW is now close enough to leapfrog Hewat's side with a win this weekend.

Recently re-signed winger Tom Wright said NSW was the form team of the competition.
"They've been the shining light in the last fortnight," Wright said.
"They're going to be coming down here with a real leg up, they've been scoring points left right and centre and playing a real expansive game.
"They're playing a bit more width to width which will challenge us.
We haven't been playing near to our potential so for us it's something that we're really excited about coming up against a side that's really hot at the moment and the age old rivalry of the Tahs and the Brumbies will be reinvigorated."
