ACT Labor will further invest in suburban infrastructure, announcing on Monday it will fund more than $5 million worth of playground upgrades across Canberra if elected.

It comes as the Canberra Liberals announced their environment policy platform on Sunday, including funding for environmental groups, recycling initiatives, in addition to its key commitment to plant 1 million trees.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr will announce upgraded playgrounds in Kaleen, Ngunnawal, Chisholm, Gordon, Lyons and Aranda. These could include either new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.
The commitment also includes $2 million for a "destination playground" in the inner north, following on from the success of a similar playground at the Arboretum. Labor will consult with the community about the location of the playground and included facilities.
Work to upgrade the playgrounds is expected to contribute to Labor's election plan to grow the territory's employment base to 250,000 by 2025.
Meanwhile, the Liberal's environment spokeswoman Elizabeth Lee spruiked the party's environmental election promises, affirming its commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
The Liberals committed an additional $50,000 per annum in funding over four years to ACT Wildlife should they win the election.. They would also provide and extra $50,000 for an animal ambulance.
Ms Lee also committed to guarantee funding for Landcare ACT over four years but did not provide a figure and announced two ACT park rangers would be dedicated to working alongside volunteer group Park Care.
"Our measures will provide real and practical support to wildlife and environmental volunteer groups who are out on the frontline doing their part to care for our local environment for generations to come," Ms Lee said.

Recycling will be another key commitment for the Liberals, with the party committing to ensure there are recycling bins in every local shopping centre and business precinct. They will also offer $10,000 grants for recycling initiatives.
Liberals leader Alistair Coe said the measures would help the party future proof Canberra's status as the bush capital.
"The Canberra Liberals will protect the local environment to make Canberra the best place to live, work and raise a family for many generations to come," he said.
