Apprentice jockey Patrick Scorse has been cleared of serious injury after a barrier incident before the last race at Canberra on Wednesday, but is still facing up to six weeks on the sidelines.

Scorse was taken to hospital late Wednesday afternoon after landing awkwardly on his left ankle.
He was cleared of a fracture, but still suffered soft tissue damage and has been stood down from riding duties for four to six weeks.
The young hoop was thrown from his mount Promesa when the horse became fractious in the barriers.
